■ TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
ELORO SILOX 1.3 is an innovative coloured paste wall covering, based on stabilized colloidal silica and acryl-siloxanic binders. It’s a
special breathable, water repellent wall covering used as a finishing coat for indoors and outdoors, recommended for both new and
The final properties of the coating are derived from the synergistic action of the components;
Stabilized colloidal silica gives:
• High adhesion: Fixative properties of silica gel are well known;
• Breathability: Microcrystalline structure has the same porosity of the plaster;
• Water Resistance: Because microporous structure decreases the absorption of water;
• Dirtiness: The coloured coating is naturally cleaner than a traditional top coating;
• Stability: The surface of the coating is subjected to less stress. This reduces the possibility of microcracks;
The chemical nature of the binder based on acryl – siloxanic molecules gives the product a high water repellency that hinders the
absorption of rainwater. At the same time the microporous structure of the modified polysiloxanes allows the exit of the water vapor
from the walls through the coating. ELORO SILOX shows a typical pleasant aesthetic effect and an attractive drop effect.
■ COMPOSITION AND USE
ELORO SILOX 1.3 is made up of acrylic siloxanic binders, stabilized colloidal silica, siliceous inert particles, selected marble granules,
inorganic photo resistant pigments and specific additives. It can be used on any lime-based or cement-based surfaces, treated first if
necessary. Thanks to its well-balanced formulation, to its easiness of application and traditional aesthetic effect, it’s used to decorate
and restore prestigious buildings, for the refreshment of old town areas and sea places.
■ PREPARING SURFACES AND APPLICATION
The walls must be seasoned and dry, free from dust and dirt, oil, vegetable colonies, evidence of salts, residual of working. Walls not
perfectly anchored must be brushed and cleaned. Very absorbent surfaces or with significant differences in absorption, or crumbly
plaster must be wetted with SILOX PRIMER or with IDROFIX DM 50, consolidating fixative. In the event of not crumbly or
synthetic plaster is sufficient to isolate with a layer of MICRO SILOX. This product must be applied following the instructions
carefully, first with a stainless steel trowel and then with a plastic trowel.
